Damaged Patients save the Cold Cave show in Knoxville

I went out this weekend to the Pilot Light in Knoxville to see Cold Cave only to find out they and Night Jewel had canceled due to massive snow storm in VA.
Thankfully, Knoxvilles own Damaged Patients who were set to open the bill that night didn't pack it in and go home but instead decided to follow through with their debut show.

The duo brought a full set of dark, weird, minimal electronics, live cadences on stripped down drum kit and lightly processed vocals.
Imagine Adult. or Anne Clark meets maybe Miranda Sex Garden.
Well executed and finely crafted.
For their first show ever they pulled it off with the delivery of a band that's been playing out a lot.

I'd venture to say that this is band we're going to need to pay attention to, as I expect to see a lot more from them in the future.

Needless to say they saved the night in a big way and I'm excited to see what else they bring to the table.
Be sure to check these guys out on myspace and listen to their uploaded tracks.

Happy Birthday William S. Burroughs

William Seward Burroughs (February 5, 1914 – August 2, 1997).

Novelist, spoken word performer, painter and avant-garde genius, William S. Burroughs shaped the landscape of modern multimedia art forms, constantly pushing the boundaries, testing the limits and remaining honest and fearless in his work (an example most of us should take in all of our daily activities).

Today Lost Sea Recordings would like to extend a Happy Birthday to the late great William S. Burroughs.
