Review: Clipd Beaks - A World Without End - C60

For those of you who haven't got turned on to this band yet, Clipd Beaks are a three piece unit from California who provide their own flavor of (for a lack of a better term) noise rock.

Their newest release "A World Without End" offers up 60 minutes of B sides, demos, and jam sessions from their previous CD / 2LP release "To Realize"

The cassette starts off with muffled loops and really up front and present vocals, this was not what I was expecting, my initial reaction was it was a poor dub or just poor overall production so I start turning the dial on the cassette deck, total fake out... track one starts to explode with martial drum patterns, drones, heavy bass, and the vocals start to fit into the mix perfectly and this sets the tone for the whole album.

A World Without End is a 60 minute non-stop assault on your ears and your brain, eerie drones and reverb drowned vocals pairing up with washes of scratchy noise washes all held together with pounding, constant, entrancing drums. The whole thing sounds very inspired by bands like Grotus or maybe even some Helios Creed so needless to say if you're a fan of those bands or you just like original, noisy, creep out sounds this is a tape you should pick up.

The cassette was limited to 100 copies - hand made - hand numbered - glow in the dark
What weirdo music / noise lover can pass that up??

They have 21 of these slabs of magnetic tape left, and you can pick your copy of it up here.
